Sir Speedy, PIP, Signal Graphics Convention a Home Run in Baltimore

Both franchisees and salespeople around the country recognized at numerous award ceremonies throughout the three-day event.

MISSION VIEJO, Calif., August 30, 2012 – The annual Sir Speedy, PIP Printing and Marketing Services and Signal Graphics International Convention and Vendor Show was recently held in Baltimore August 15-18 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel. Franchise owners and salespeople from around the country were presented with sales achievement and other recognition awards during the three-day event that encompassed keynote presentations, breakout seminars and the largest trade show of any printing and marketing services company.

Each year Sir Speedy and PIP recognize a recipient for their Franchisee of the Year Award. The selection criteria are based on a franchisee’s demonstration of a deep belief in the franchising concept, and promotion, support and encouragement of franchising and the franchise network. This year the Franchisee of the Year Awards include the establishment of two new scholarships presented in the names of the recipients. The scholarships will support students attending California Polytechnic State University’s Graphic Communications program. These legacy scholarships are part of the scholarship programs sponsored by Franchise Services, Inc., and administered by the Electronic Document Scholarship Foundation (EDSF).

The 2012 Sir Speedy Franchisee of the Year Award was presented to Reuven and Susy Kanner of Miami Lakes, FL. The Sir Speedy Scholarship was given in their name to Chantel Camping who will be a sophomore at Cal Poly enrolled in the Graphic Communication program.

The 2012 PIP Franchisee of the Year Award was presented to Jimmy and Judy Brumley of Burlington, NC. This is the second time the Brumley’s have received this award and the first time in history that a PIP franchisee has received the award twice. The PIP Scholarship was given in the Brumley’s name to Paige Cornelison, a Dean’s List sophomore also enrolled in Cal Poly’s Graphic Communication program.

Don Lowe, CEO of Franchise Services, Inc. presented a special Lifetime Achievement Award to Art and Dannie Weber of Winston-Salem, NC in recognition of their 40 years with the Sir Speedy network.

“In addition to these highly coveted awards, we present awards in many other categories to recognize the sales achievements and accomplishments of leaders in our franchise network,” said Richard Lowe, COO of Franchise Services. “More than 200 awards are given throughout our Convention event and I am proud of the hard work and dedication each recipient has made to their business growth.”

Other highlights of the Convention included a keynote presentation by Lawrence Kimmel, Executive Director, Hawkeye, and President Emeritus, Direct Marketing Association (DMA), anda vendor tradeshow where leading companies in the printing, graphics arts and marketing services industries exhibited in more than 130 booths at the Baltimore Convention Center. Ricoh served as Signature Sponsor of the 2012 event.
